10 reasons why YOU should be drinking more water.
When I talk about the best foods to consume for healthy living I will also recommend drinking lots of plain water. Why? Our body’s are designed to drink it! Water is so important to the human body that we would only survive an average of 7-14 days without water but could survive 7-8 weeks without food!!! That shows how much we need water.
I recommend drinking 1 litre of water for every 20-25kg of bodyweight throughout the day and replace all tea, coffee and sugary drinks with water or herbal teas.
The increase in water may seem a lot at first but stick with it as dehydration is one of the key reasons people fail to lose body fat.
Water will actually help you lose weight and is essential for flushing out toxins in your body as you start to lose body fat.
Often we mistake thirst for hunger so sometimes when we hear those rumbles in the tummy it’s actually dehydration and not hunger!!
A good tip to try is to have a pint of water 20 minutes before you eat, this will hydrate your body and so the brain will not confuse thirst for hunger which will mean you won’t eat more than you need too!
Try not to drink any tap water though as tap water contains high levels of chlorides, fluorides, oestrogen and hundreds of other chemicals. Instead go for bottled water or an even better option would be filtered water.
