The Two Keys To A Successful Body Transformation

I think we would all agree that to get in shape you need to work out more and eat less, right? We all have a good intentions.” l’m going to do more cardio, lift some weights and eat healthy” That’s a good start and good plan but you need to be a lot more specific than that.

Working out on regular basis it’s easier said than done and for some people it comes easier than for others. I think the biggest different between people who are in shape compare to people who are not is they have the discipline to work the calories off.

If you ask any of the trainers from your gym if they occasionally eat pizza, cheeseburger or chips and sometimes drink a few beers they should answer YES and if they answer no, then they are lying. I have worked with many trainers and believe me, we over eat once in a while.

The difference is that these types of personalities eat super healthy for most of the week and train double hard to get these calories off. Thinking about this people above and there are two words coming to my mind:

1, Discipline

2, Consistency

These are two keys to your body transformation. I have a little motto I like to say my clients and I also have it on the back of my t-shirt, “Results or Excuses”. I like to use one more motto, “Don’t think about it, just do it”.

When you are about to work out but you don’t want to, there are a hundreds of excuses you will sit there and come up with. But if you just get up and go, you will be a lot better off.

It takes Discipline to prepare for your workout and to complete it.

What I mean by this is, first, you need to remember your workout gear before you go to work. You need to plan the time you will be working out, setting time aside for you and only for you. You also need to plan your actual workout, or what you’re going to do (cardio or weight training). Finally, it takes discipline to complete the whole workout. The above items listed are great for getting results, but only get you so far.

I think Consistency is actually the most important concept to focus on and here’s why. Any good trainer could compose a “perfect workout” for you and the goals you’d like to obtain. But, if you only do it once a week, you’re not going to get much in terms of results. I’d almost rather have you take a mediocre plan and stick with it 5-6 days per week. You’d get much better results if you just stay consistent. Believe it or not, once you get past the first 4-6 weeks, your body will actually start to look forward to working out, sweating, and burning calories. It becomes a feeling of accomplishment and you’ll really start noticing a difference in your body and how it feels.

One thing to remember is this: Be patient with your body! Not all of us were school or college athletes. It takes time for your body to bounce back for lack of a better term. I have seen numerous gym members and bootcampers try it for a week or two, not see much progress, and then just give up. Well, we all know that’s not going to get you were you want to be.

I’ve also seen many examples of people trying to follow a program or a new fad diet. They try it for a few weeks and possibly get some results. Next thing I hear is, “well that doesn’t work for me”. I think it may have worked if they had just been patient, stayed consistent and had the discipline to stick with it for longer than 14 to 30 days.

It’s going to take many weeks or maybe many months to reach your final goal. Trust the fact that all your hard work and the proper eating habits will get you that rocking body.

When it comes to losing weight and getting fit – you’re either in, or you’re out – there is no ‘sorta, kinda, in betweener’.

Don’t get frustrated, stay consistent and it will happen. Don’t give up on yourself and remember no one else is going to burn the calories for you. You have the opportunity and the ability to do it, now let’s get it done!

“Don’t think about it, just do it!”
