2 Mistakes That Newbies Make When Trying to Get Fit & Lose Weight

This is the FIRST MONDAY of the year 2014.

Most people starting their “New Me” today.

More activity and healthier eating.

Why we doing it?

Mainly because we want to look great naked.

It won’t happen, unless you are willing to put in the time,

energy, and effort to actually a nutrition and fitness program.

Below, you will see a list of struggles newbies can face.

1, Good intensions.

You are the first person in the gym on January 1st.

You decided to drastically change your life. Unfortunately it won’t work

if you want to change every aspect of your life all at the same time:

  • I’m going to exercise for an hour a day six days a week!
  • I’m going to completely change how I eat!
  • I’m going to start flossing!
  • I’m going to run three miles every morning!
  • I’m going to quit smoking!

You may success for a week or two, and then life gets in the way and

everything falls apart!

Solution?

Pick only ONE or TWO new habits at a time to fix and stick with that

for at least 3-4 weeks. That is the time which takes to form a new habit.

 

2, Vague goals.

So you want to Get Fit & Lose Weight, but not really sure HOW to do it?

Do you have goals like “I need to lose weight” or “I’m going to eat better”?

All of the “goals” above lack of any sort of concrete details, which makes

them impossible to track or measure thus you will find it difficult to follow!

Solution?

Set better goals! Get specific!

  • “I need to lose weight” becomes “I need to lose 2 dress sizes or 10 inches of my waist by my wedding on April 1st”.
  • “I want to exercise more” becomes “I will exercise three days a week for 45 minutes each day.

When you specific with your goals, it becomes VERY easy to see what steps

you need to put in place in order to get there.
